Sage has accepted the challenge to be part of a green team with Ecology Ottawa. This means that we will be actively adapting our workplace practices to become more environmentally friendly and contributing to the health of our community.

Goals:
To create green space and promote environmentally friendly community relations and healthy local food through the development of a local community garden.
To decrease our energy use by adapting our electricity use and heating practices.
To decrease our paper use.
Accomplishments:
- Turning down thermostat when clinic is not in use.
- Reducing phantom load through use of power bars.
- Switching to compact flourescent light bulbs.
- Using 100% recycled paper
- Switched to half sized receipts
- All natural laundry soap on towels and blankets
- Composting and recycling
- Using environmentally friendly cleaning agents
Future Goals:
- Start a local community garden
- Look into possibility of rooftop garden at Sage
- Ensure any services outsourced use sustainable practices
