Karen Raddon - RMT

I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2004. I have worked in a family chiropractic clinic and a home based community clinic serving a wide range of clients from youth to elderly, from athletes to those suffering with chronic pain, short term injuries or the lasting effects of stress on the body. My treatments consist of an appropriate combination of trigger point therapy, friction therapy, myofascial release, and other advanced techniques within the context of Swedish massage while I adjust my pressure based on the individual client’s need and comfort.

Being someone who enjoys an active lifestyle including school, work, volunteering and athletics, I understand the challenges my clients face in all the various demands in their lives. I am passionate about promoting my clients’ health and helping them exercise their abilities without pain or restriction. Even small injuries, or pain such as headaches or jaw pain, can sometimes cause large disruptions in our lives. In my practice I seek to help my clients move beyond the limitations of injury and stress and help them maintain healthy bodies for life.

Outside of work I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree in Conflict Studies and am looking forward to going on to my MA degree in Cultural Studies. I am passionate about social justice, environmentalism and community involvement. I volunteer regularly as a facilitator with Alternatives to Violence Project, providing conflict resolution workshops for prison and community groups. Any chance I get I will be outside, camping, skiing, cycling, running or hula hooping in the park.

Over the past eight years of my practice it has been such an honour to have the chance to listen to new clients tell me about their goals for better health and help them on their way. It would be an honour to hear from you.

I believe the body has an innate capacity for healing, and my role as a therapist is to help remove restrictions and facilitate this healing.
